Tomorrow ONLY (though you could go and shop tonight), Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus are holding "Private" sale events where full-price merchandise is 30-40% off for one day, then gets marked back up to full-price the next day. These used to be private shopping events for card holders and top customers, but they're now open for everyone to join the madness.
Before you assume that 40% off a billion dollars still makes it over-priced, there are some deals to be had - like $14 Ugg slippers.
